Parking Choice

We believe Allentown is a more economically prosperous city when building owners are allowed to decide for themselves how much parking they need. As such, Allentown Strong Towns is advocating for the elimination of minimum parking mandates in Allentown’s next zoning update. To accomplish this we are focusing on building awareness for what this zoning mechanism is and the impacts it has on our built environment and financial stability. We are directing citizens who care about this issue to email their thoughts on government mandated parking to Allentown Planning at [email protected].

Education Corridor

We believe Allentown is has a brighter future when our school children have safe ways to access education resources. Allentown Strong Towns is advocating for a bike lane between Anna Mae Hays Elementary School and the Allentown Library. This 4 block bike lane can create an essential travel route school children to benefit from additional learning and after school activities. We are directing citizens who care about this issue to explore the Safe Streets for All initiative. We are encouraging additional action by emailing thoughts to Traffic planning at [email protected].
